Sewing Mice

Our sponsor this month is a £10 voucher from Joanna Sheen. And our weekly sponsor is Bunny Zoe with a £10 gift voucher.

So todays card is featuring paper-piecing. I paper pieced the stuffed animal with the green paper from this collection that I also used as a corner treatment. I have also tried my new sewing-machine for the first time for my cards, and I just love it. I have to fins a place for it so I can use it more often. The brads looks like buttons. The card feel a bit empty I know so maybe I’ll redo it later, but now I need to go shop for fabric for the tablecloth for the wedding.

Short one today, I have so much to do about the wedding. Next update will probably be my napkin-holders. After that I’ll be back in august, after the wedding and honeymoon.

The history behind it aren’t that pretty but the photo is etched to my memory and as soon as i saw this image from Lili of the Valley I just new that i needed to have it and that many cards from now on for Olle will be with this motive.

Anyway the card is a step-card, you can see my blueprint for it if you click the link. The papers are from DCWV’s The Guy Stack. The image is always colored with Copics and I just my new E70’s pens for the wood and the chair and I really like that shade to this dark cardstock.

Vacation-time

I’s time for another challenge for Sweet Stampin’ and this weeks theme is Ribbon and Bows.

Our lovely sponsors for this month is still Joanna Sheen with a £10 voucher and our weekly sponsor is Crafty ribbons with TBC.

So I just had to make another card with the lovely Bunny Cruise. Once again i did the bath-ring all in one color, I don’t really like the fishes and don’t really wanna  accent it. The image is colored  with copics and the clouds are made with some tumbled glass. The image is framed with my new and wonderful labels 2.

The papers are from My Minds Eye’s collection  Indie Chic: Nutmeg. The image is a bit off, the yellow paper is a bit more lemony in real life. The greeting I used is from AmyR’s underwater-set.

My embellishments consists of a white doily, some paper piercing, some small brown pearls and a cream-ribbon.

Graduation-Edward

This week my eldest cousin graduates and unfortunately neither me or my family will be able to go. Instead I have made this card to arrive with our gift.

I’m at writing moment really sick and I can’t believe I actually succeeded to make a card. I have to admit that the inside and my handwriting is terrible but the front is really good considering.

The image is The Greeting Farm’s Edward and the paper I used is My Minds Eye. The Swedish colors are yellow and blue and I wanted to make a card in these color sense they are traditional graduation colors here. I got my graduation-papers out and really disliked them all all of a sudden, I wanted more depth. So i went through my papers for anything yellow and blue and found these. The sentiment is from Amy R’s Big Words & Handy additions set.

The yellow paper have been heavenly distressed with Mustard Seed to get a bit brighter yellow.

Here comes summer

The other day I received some new House Mouse-sets. I of course wanted to play with them so after my exam this Friday I spent a lovely hour coloring in this sweet image. The card-making had to wait for on Saturday i was kidnapped for my bachelorette party, it was a blast!

Well anyway I finally got some time to play around again so i finished the coloring and started this card. I have used this weeks Stampin’ for the weekend sketch. The tag is a die from Magnolia and I made a pocket behind the polka-dot-paper for it. As it is now there is no writing on it, I might ad something personal when I have a recipient in mind.

The mice is colored with copics and the clouds are made with one of my handmade templates and some Tumbled Glass distress Ink. All the edges of the paper have been inked with Memento rich cacao. The sentiment on the easel-stand is Swedish and says ”You make me happy”.

Stamp: House Mouse – Feathered Friends – Sing your heart out. Arkivet – ”Du gör mig glad”.

Love under the Moon

This Weeks Challenge over at the Sweet Stampin’ is Moon & Stars and ours sponsor for this week is Bugaboo witch the prize of 7 digis and our monthly sponsor Joanna Sheen with a £10 voucher.

So after looking through my stamps for something to match Moon and Stars i found this stamp from The Crafter’s Meow set Happy Owlentine’s day. Sense I wanted a night-scene i also looked through my papers and found these from My Mind’s eye, the Stella and Rose collection. The vertical paper is a dark blue but it do get a more gray tone combined with the gray paper.

I based my coloring after this gray paper and all colors are chosen from a gray perspective. The moons texture is made withe the blender pen and I made the clouds with my cloud stencil and the London Fog memento Ink. I did have some Paris Dusk on the stencil that transfered onto the paper. It gave a bit of a depth but the Paris Dusk mostly shows on the top part.

The sentiment is from the same stamp-set and it’s stamped with Archival’s Brilliance Graphite Black. The little banner have been shaped with a pen so the ”need” part is raised and the edge of the banner is raised.

I used this weeks Sketch Saturdays Sketch for the layout. I also tried a new cardsize for this card. I think that my normal size (10x15cm) is a bit to narrow and I don’t really like the proportions so I asked Kim Teasdale what size she uses (I just love all her cards!) and I learned that she uses approximately 11x14cm (she of course have her measurements in inches). I thought that felt a bit short so my card is actually 15×11 and I think it’s better then before but I have to try a 11×14 soon. But thanks Kim!

Stamp: The Crafter’s Meow – Happy Owlentine’s Day.

Paper: My Mind’s Eye – Stella and Rose – Hattie

Copic: C0, Y00, N1, N3, 0, W1, W3, W5, W7, W9, E59, E57, E43, YG99, YG97, YG95, V95, V97

Other: Memento – London Fog, Paris Dusk. Spellbinders – Nestabilities – Large Circle and Scallop Circle. Archival – Brilliance – Graphite Black.

Flower Power Challenge

This weeks challenge over at the Sweet Stampin’ is Flower Power and our lovely sponsors for this week is My Favourite Things that will give a $25 gift certificate for a lucky winner. Our monthly sponsors is Joanna Sheen with a £10 voucher.

So I have to admit that this card is made in a hast. I have had a full week and the next wont be better from what i can see.

So i wanted to use this adorable stamp from Lili of the valley that I got the other day. I did have a really nice time color it, the only think I’m a bit annoyed with it the Pansies, especially the leaves but hopefully I will do it better next time. I bought this stamp with my mom in mind and i have to make a card for her soon but this ons is actually for my grandmother as a thank-you for the wedding-gift me and Bjorn received a few days ago.

The papers are from Basic Gray’s collection Hello luscious, the yellow button is also from that collection, and the flowers are a punch from EK success.

I have to say that I’m not very happy with the card, there is something off but I’m to tiered to see or fix it and the good thing with Grandparents is that they love all you do!

I have probably forgot something so ask if there is something you wonder about…

Vintage Kitchen-mice

So today I actually made time to sit down and just play around with all my toys. The plan was, from the beginning, that I might color some and try out the new colors I got the other week. But I found a House Mouse image laying on my desk that i colored a while back that I just need to use somehow. I realized I haven’t made a House Mouse for like months! And of course I had to change that. So i looked through my calendar and found out that my aunt has her birthday next Tuesday so i decided to make this one for her.

She is bit more modern then this card but the image just gives me a feeling of old country kitchen in Italy (for some reason) and i hope she will love it anyway. So I looked through my stash of paper and found these nice papers from Pion Design which inspired me to do the card even more vintage so everything have been distressed with Vintage Photo. I also added a layer of vintage photo over the entire image so it would match better with the colors and have the same warmth to it. The doily is also covered with ink. The inside is made in the same fashion.

The Image is cut out using my new and fabulous rectangle nestabilities, bot the regular and the scallop one. I could only afford the large or the small one when i made that order so I chose the Large one in hope that it would work with the big stamps from House Mouse.. and look they fit perfectly! I couldn’t be happier. The image is as usual colored with copics.

I used this weeks Sketch Saturday Sketch for the layout and I did keep fairly true to it. The sentiments tab is a die from MFT and the sentiment is from Gina K’s Garden Silhouettes. The sentiment is stamped with Memento Rich Cacao.

I used some cream pearls so make the card a bit softer and to give it a more embellished look. Unfortunately I were out of the smaller ones so I used the big size. I still wish that I had the smaller ones but it turned out ok anyway.

Stamp: House Mouse – Autumn Berry.

Paper: Pion Design – Fairytale of Spring

Copic: 0, E13, E11, E21, E31, E33, E40, E41, E43, W3, G82, G85, BV04, BV13, BV02,  E39, E37, E35, W7, W5, W3, W1, N1, N3, N5

The Musical Bear

So this weeks challenge for Sweet Stampin’ is  ”anything but square” so I thought I’d try my first round easel.

Our sponsor for this moths is Joanna Sheen that will give a £10 gift voucher.

And our weekly sponsor is Di’s digis that will give a $10 voucher

———————————————————————————————————————————————————

As soon as I saw this lovely image from Di’s Digis i immediately thought of the Ljusteräng family, and especially Andreas. Andreas is a musician and will among other things play on my wedding. His son and my godson Theo will probably grow up to be one too and I though that this bear would be so cute for Theo.

I’m really happy with how the coloring of the fur turned out. I went for a longhaired bear and it really turned out good. I’m not very happy with the drums but i honestly have no idea how to make it work. The white of the hat is not colored because i forgot it until i took the photo. I looks really good but I will probably shade it a bit with E40, E41 if I find the time this weekend. The edges of the circle (and the nameplate) is distressed with Antique Linen.

The paper on the bottom part is from Echo Park’s collection This &That: Charming and I did use that paper as inspiration when I colored. The nameplate is made with one of Spellbinder’s Grommet Tags. The name Theo is stamped with some clearstamp letters i had from an Exchangeable Clearstamper-sets featuring Baby-things and the brads are from Paperwishes. The nameplate is not fastened with any foam-dots or other adhesive or anything dimensional, it’s keeping up due to the fact that the brads is closer together then they ”should”.

Stamp: Di’s Digis – Gibson Bear. Exchangeable Clearstamper – Baby

Paper: Echo Park – This and that – Charming

Copic: E04, BG11, BG32, YG21, YG23, YG25, Y13, Y15, Y17, E40, E41, E43, E31, E33, E35, E37, E39, E57, 0, N3, N5, N7, N9, W1, W3, W5, 0

Other: Spellbinders – Nestabilities – Large Scallop Circle, Large and Small Circle. Spellbinders – Shapeabilities – Grommet tags. Distress Ink- Antique Linen.

Clean and Simple Spring-card

So  today I wanted to practice my CAS-cards and deiced to use a Penny Black image. I haven’t used one in a while and I have a couple that is perfect for spring cards. I’m longing for a nice flowery spring instead of the rainy and gray one i have outside right now.

In the CAS-ual Fridays challenge for this week you are suppose ti choose opposite colors from the color-wheel and i Choose a green for my stems of the flowers and then matched it to the opposite, red, for the roses.

The stamp is from Penny Black’s set Piece of my heart and the sentiment is from another Penny Black set called Garden Friends. To frame the image i Embossed Spellbinder’s Label 18 using a emboss only technique I first saw on Stamp Tv.

To also be able to join this weeks Penny Black Challenge I added a striped ribbon and made some dots on the pot. On the pot i tried out some of my new copics (the E95-99) and i really do love them. They give a very nice terracotta tone. The only problem i find with the lightest ones (E93, E95) is a slight bit to pink for me, i would have wanted a color between E95 and E97.

I need to apologize for the poor photo but my dear husband-to-be is making a big mess in the kitchen which is the place i usually photograph in due to the big window.

Stamp: Penny Black – Piece of my heart, Garden friends

Copic: E95, E97, E99, 0, R35, R37, R39, G14, YG16, G17, E11, E51, E93, E40, E43, E57, E37, E49

Other: Spellbinders – Nestabilities – Labels 18
