A Micely Cupcake for my grandfather

This card is for my grandfather for his birthday on the 27th.. A couldn’t help myself so i choose on of my absolutely favorite stamps: the House Mouse Birthday Cupcake one.For the papers and the coloring I had a speciall paper in mind. The paper is the blue one from DCWV’s The Guy stack.

When i was little and spent time up with my grandparents my grandfather always gave me and my sister some nails, hammer, saw and some wood and we did put them together in all kinds of ways. I have to admit that that it really turned out nice or as something but we had so much fun. I did do a Kallaha-game once but that is the only finished thing i can remember. Whenever i see different carpenter tools I always think about him and their driveway, those times is really some of my most treasured memories and I did wanna get a part of them in this card. That background for the card is a part of the warm and fuzzy and warm aspect of the card, an feeling aspect:), and i do hope that bu sharing this i will qualify for this House Mouse Challenge, otherwise i will hope that the warm and fuzzy mice will due;).

All the edges have been distressed with either Tumbled Glass or Vintage Photo to get ride off all the harsh white lines. The brads in the corners have groves like a screw to match the tool-theme. For the shadowing on the cupcake-wrapping i used E39 and a lot of blenderpen. Then only thing i would like to caution about is that the paper I have used is all coated with some glossy material so making the shadows wasn’t that easy and the color just runs of the glossy parts.

A floral Bubbels

So after a lot of christmas-cards i felt like making a card for my own pleasure and sense i really wanted to do a card with Sweet November’s Bubbles Lostlagoon.I just love her hair and she is the the only sitting figure i have so far so next time i will have to make something for her to sit on.

I first deiced that i wanted to use Bo Bunny’s Barefoot Bliss so I tried to color accordantly to the papers. I started our with the green tail and then kept going with the hair. I did want it to be a bit orange/yellow to match the hibiscus-flowers of the paper but i didn’t found a good combination due to the fact that i only have one orange so it got the be a bit more yellow. I don’t think it have enough contrast but that will have to be for the next time. The orange pen is an Copic original pen and i had a really hard time to blend it well when i used it direct to the paper, and i think it got a bit to soft when i used the tip to tip method with the Y17.

The frame for Bubbles is made with scalloped circles and circles nestabilities and the white oval have been embossed/letterpressed with the circles impressabilities. The tag is made with Tim Holtz’s Tiny Tab & tags and i backed the tag on a blue circle made with nestabilities circle. The stamp is from the text-set from Reprint (the swedish word for Thanks). The wave on the bottom is made with My Favorite Things Jumbo Scallop. The inside is made with the same wave.

5 simple and clean ”postcard”-cards

So i have just finished the nest step in the big order i got. The part of the order was 5 cards (13 x 8cm), unfolded- like a postcard and i were to use as much as possible of the Reprint stamp Julbakgrund and at the same time making is as simple as possible.

As you all can see i used a shimmering golden cardstock as background and both a regular pen and pencil can without problem write on the background (I tried). Then i stamped the text (with is Swedish christmas words) one and a half time down using my stamp-a-ma-jig as a help. I used Archival’s Brilliance pad Galaxy gold which i think matched perfectly with the golden background. The ribbon is a regular white satin ribbon that i tied as a bow and placing it on the right or left side.

This is made after the the clients wishes and i was was free to do what ever i wanted i would have used this as a cardfront and adhered it to a regular C& white (folded) card. I’m not that fond of writing the greeting or message on an colored surface but i did work so it will have to do.

stamp: Reprint’s Julbakgrund

stamppad: Archival Brilliance Galaxy Gold

Second golf-card

So here is the second golf-card i made. I used the same image as the first card.

This card is made using this weeks Mojo Monday and papers from Basic Gray’s collection Life of the Party. It is suppose to be a birthday card for a man so i thought this papers were just perfect! I especially love the gifts on the small paper.

Copic: E00, E51. E21, E11, 0,E29, E49, E07, N1. N3, N5, N7, E31, E35, E37, YG17, YG13, YG11, RV34, RV23, RV21, C10, C8, C6

First golf-card

So I got an order for three cards, 2 golf cards and one blue house mouse card. So after a long days of crafting i have finished the two golfcards and the HM card only needs to have the image mounted.

This card is for my client’s husband on his birthday. So i choose my papers and embellishments from Basic Gray’s Marjolaine collection. The layout is from last weeks Sketch Saturday, but as usual when i start up a project midweek the challenges expired, but I’m really happy with the look. As you can see I once again tried to photograph after sunset so the photo is a bit blurry and the colors are a bit off. But the left side of the card is most true.

Sense I don’t have a golf-themed stamp i surfed the web a bit and found this cute little guy. He is from a coloring site, mainly for kids (you can find it here). I printed it on one on my Copic papers. Unfortunately the printer i used is a bit odd and refused to print it in black so i got an image in dark red so I traced all the lines with my black copic multiliner. At some parts you can still see hints of red but i hope the recipient won’t.

Copic: YG11, YG13, YG17, G29, G85, B91, B93, B95, B97, C10, C8, C6, 0, E00, E51, E21, E11, E57, E29, E49. Black multiliner.

Paper and embellishments are from Basic Gray’s Marjolaine collection.

Stamps:”Grattis”-stamp is from reprints text-set. ”Det finns ingen som du” is from Arkivet.

Other: Spellbinders Octagon Nestabilities. Paper Piercer. Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

A mermaid for my mother

So this is a card that i made for my own pleasure on this long awaited weekend of no stress, school or other commitments.

I have wanted to make this card for a long time. The beautiful Treasure Tempestwind and her companion Eddy arrived in my mailbox for  probably a month ago or longer and i have wanted to play with her for a long time, she is from CC designs Sweet November collection. I knew i wanted to pair her up with the Barefoot Bliss papers from Bo Bunny due to its sea-theme. When i showed my mom the front paper, the one with the fishes she just loved it and when she is an aquarium-nut it’s just a perfect way to show how much i do appreciate her and her support.

So… The papers that is used is from Bo Bunny’s Barefoot Bliss collection and i just love the bright shadow-fish that shows on the horizontal strip to the left. All the papers edges have been distressed with faded jeans. The backing for Treasure tempestwind and the tag is made by spellbinders nestabilities and I also used the circle impressabilities and embossed the white oval. I also used it in the inside as a stencil when i distressed some parts lightly with more faded jeans.

Both Treasure Tempestwind and Eddy have been colored with copics, and ’m just so happy with how Eddy and Treasure Tempestwind’s hair turned out!I stared out with B91, B93, B95 and B97 for the hair but wanted more contrast and darkness so i added some B18 and N7, N5- but still keeping the light parts in B97. I really like the black/blue feel of the hair and the shadowing, but i have to practice more on the lower part of the hair.

I watched Amy Young’s videos (find her youtube channel here) on marmaid-tail when i made this and really wanted to make a soft dotted one. Now as an afterthought i wish i would have made the shadows darker to create a better contrast, but that will have to be for next time.

The sentiment on the front is from Reprint and says ”Hugs” and the inside is from Arkivet (that sadly closed down this week) that says ”There is nobody like you”. Tempest and the sentiment have been decorated with light blue brads and light blue rhinestones. The ribbon is a usual satin ribbon from Panduro.

Copic: 0. Skin E11, E21, E51, E00, E93+R20, R22. Top and tail: Y17, Y08, N4, B97- YG11, YG13, BG13, B21, B41, B24, B97. Hair: B91, B93, B95, B97,  B18, N7, N5. Eddy: N7, N5, N3, N1, E93

Stamps: Sweet November’s Treasure Tempestwind and Eddy. Reprint’s text-set. Arkivet’s ”Det finns ingen som du”

Papers: Bo Bunny’s Barefoot Bliss

Dies: Spellbinder’s Classic Large Oval and Scalloped oval, Ribbon tags trio and Impressabilities Circles.

Cards of the day 1 – Cowboy/girl

Today i have tried creating more cards for the bow that i will have in my dear mothers workplace in an attempt to sell my cards. When packing the box I have realized that i have few cards that is for younger kids so that have been the goal for today.

This cards is meant for a a kid that likes cowboys, perhaps a bit older sense it’s kind of clean-looking without much embellishments. The papers is from DCWV’s All About Boys stack (6″x4″) and the horse you can see to the left is a part of that specific paper and have a glossy shine to it which is badly reflected in this picture. The Sentiment is Reprint’s text set and have been stamped with Versa Colors 171 Pine cone, (The senitiment says ”Happy Birthday in swedish”). All edges have been lightly distressed with Vintage Photo. The embellishments that is put on the cards is simple some black brads.

I tried to keep the same layout on the inside but in a smaller scale, with the papers reversed. I didn’t need to take a new sheet by reversing the papers with i thought was nice.

Challenges: Lili of the Valley – #100 Anything Goes

Pink Flower Lady

Todays card is made with an focal that I experimented with yesterday using emboss-resist-technique.

The focal image is first stamped with Gina K’s timeless textures, with Versa Colors 152 Ash Rose, the script stamp and then i clear-embossed Hero Arts Flower Lady. After that the entire imaged got heavily distressed with milled lavender. I did the same thing with the label, that is the Quickutz die labels, and i stamped two small hearts on it with the Ash Rose again. The cards background is a simple white cardstock that have been teated with provocrafts embossingfolder Victoria and then lightly distressed with some more milled lavender. The bottom edge, bot white and pink paper, have been punched with Fiskar’s border punch scalloped circles. The flowers are simple white Reprint papers that has been embellished with some small pearls. The ribbon that is used is a pink multi-colored one that i think match both the dark and the light pink. The dark pink cardstock is a bazil bling one which makes it a bit hard to get a accurate picture of the color but it works really good together with the ash rose and milled lavender. The card is a 15 x 10cm, very close to an A6.

The cards layout is from this weeks Mojo Monday (#192). I didn’t change much but I’m happy. I’m also trying to enter this month Hero Arts challenge for the first time.
