Mice in sunshine

2013-04-21

So welcome to another biweekly challenge for House Mouse and friends Monday Challenge. This weeks theme is ”it’s all about weather”. I decided to go with sunshine due to the beautiful weather outside.

The image is from the House’s Feathered Friend’s Sing your heart out. I really love this image and I really think it look very different from my other due to the red flowers. The clouds is as usual made with tumbled glass and this time I tried to have more space between the clouds. Singing in the spring

2013-04-07

So here comes my card for this biweekly challenge over at the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge which is themed Spring. I chose this lovely image because it make my think of all the spring-feeling that is starting to bubbling up inside me.

The coloring is of coarse made with copics. The flowers was from the beginning colored to match another paper but i think it looks pretty good anyway. But i Just love how the birdies turned out, it just love the warmth and the depth that happened.

All the papers are from Bo Bunny’s collection Kitchen Spice. The brownish paper had the same pattern as the pink/peach one so I stamped two different background-stamps in desert stamp to get some more definition. The doilie looked better when it wasn’t glued down – it showed more.

I colored some white yarn with E59 to match the cardstock and used as a twine to hold my sentiment. The sentiment is from The Craft’s Meow’s collection Get well soon and the tag from Tim Holtz’s Tiny tabs and tags which I distress with some desert Ink. The dots that is added is just made with a brown pen.

I choose this beautiful stamp from Sing your heart out because I wanted to something with a feeling of spring. It have been sunshine out this week and it have really been wonderful. I tried to keep the green very fresh and lite and I just love how the hummingbird turned out.The sentiments is from Hero Arts.

SS-248-2013All the papers are from Bo Bunny’s collection Sophie and the flowers are colored to match the pink paper. I do think the card turned out a bit to girly to my taste but I think I’ll send it to my grandma and she will just love it. I followed this week’s sketch from Sketch Saturday, I’m to late for the challenge but i Like the sketch. I have always wanted to incorporate a cornertreatment like this but always forgets so this was just an perfect opportunity for that. An remake of an old card

2013-02-17, 1So this weekend i have spent mostly redoing an old card I was unhappy with. I made the card about 6 month ago and i just felt that it was to cold, strict and empty so I finally sat down and made something with it.

I tore of the image so I could manage the background a bit better. I added a doily to give a bit of a softer look and then the green centerpice so avoid the emptiness. The sentiment if from another House Mouse set. I reattached the velvet ribbon and then added the black pearls instead of the black brads I had before.

Here comes a smaller before and after shot. The colors look a bit different and the true image is somewhere in between.DSCN4300

Teal birthday mice

 2013-02-02, 1

So today is my mothers birthday so I have been making a card during the week. Sense she also loves House Mouse I did one with a teal/turquoise feeling to it.

After it’s finished I have to admit it’s probably more my taste with the dark contrasts but I think she will like it anyway. The photo is a bit off, my camera-battery was out so it’s taken with my Iphone.

All the edges of the paper and of the image have been distressed with Evergreen Bough. The cupcake-paper have been paperpieced with the same teal paper as I use in the background, but it looks a lot darker due to all the shading I did on it. All the papers are from Basic Gray’s Hello Luscious collection.  The image have been colored with Copics but I forgot to write them down but The mice is cool gray and warm gray, the frosting is E40-E43 and the skin is my usual mice combination of E13, E11 and E51 (or 21).

As embellishments i have used the Jumbo snowflake from My Favorite things. I have been 2013-02-02, 2dying to use it (got it as a Christmasgift) and I just love the look of it. The tull-looking layer is something I got from my friend Marie. It was in an kind of beige colors and looked an awful like stockings. I colored it with some black ink and I like how it turned out but if you touch it it will give of color, which explain all the smudges all over the card. The sentiment is written in my handwriting and I bothers me a lot but it’s handmade and my mom have to love all I do (fortunate for me).

The inside follow the outside a bit but is keep very clean due to the fact that I’ll have to write inside what her birthday gift is.

Paper: Basic Gray – Hello Luscious

Stamp: House Mouse – Birthdays – Ice Cream – Birthday Cupcake

Dies: Spellbinders – Nestabilities – Square, Scalloped Square. My Favorite Things – Jumbo Snowflake, First place award ribbon.

2013-01-08, 1 Last Friday our administrator at work celebrated an even number and we will celebrate her tomorrow so I wanted to make a card. I deiced to use this beautiful stamp that i got home last week and I just love how it turned out! The colors are just so wonderful with the ribbon.2013-01-08, 2

Even if the card turned out great the evening have been terrible. First my papertrimmer broke- the wire that guides the blade broke and turned to a big ball of fuzz. When i finally found my old one so I could cut the last pieces my adhesive ran out… really not my night…

Sorry for the blurry photos but due to the fact that it’s dark when I go to the job and when I get home they won’t be better then this until weekends or a fairy brings me a new camera:)

Autumn mice

So this week on Sweet Stampin’ our challenge is Autumn Leaves/trees. I decided to make a card for my grandmother that have hurt her leg. Due to the nature of the card i decided to use this adorable image from House Mouse.

I kept the coloring in classic autumn colors and made the ground dotted to give the feeling of falling leaves. The Image have been distressed with Antique Linen and then a bit with Potters clay. I did keep a white border just to make a contrast. The sentiment on the image means ”you make me happy”.

The papers are just fabulous and I found them the other week which just made me so happy, I think I have to go buy some more:) I paired up the papers with a couple of (whole and pieces) of the Cheery Lynn Flourishes. All the papers have been lightly distressed wit memento bamboo leaves just to hide the white edges. The leaves on the bottom is made with papers from the same collection and is punched and embossed with Nellie Snellen’s Floral punch: Leaf ( the green ones are debossed).

The inside is made to match even if I didn’t embellish as much.

Copic: E13, E11, E21, W1, W3, W5, W7, E39, E35, E33, E31, YR14, YR23, YR21, YR20, E59, E57, YG67, YG63, E07, N3, C0, 0

Sewing Mice

This weeks Challenge over at the Sweet Stampin’ is Paper Piecing, so lets you all your pieced images.

Our sponsor this month is a £10 voucher from Joanna Sheen. And our weekly sponsor is Bunny Zoe with a £10 gift voucher.

So todays card is featuring paper-piecing. I paper pieced the stuffed animal with the green paper from this collection that I also used as a corner treatment. I have also tried my new sewing-machine for the first time for my cards, and I just love it. I have to fins a place for it so I can use it more often. The brads looks like buttons. The card feel a bit empty I know so maybe I’ll redo it later, but now I need to go shop for fabric for the tablecloth for the wedding.

Short one today, I have so much to do about the wedding. Next update will probably be my napkin-holders. After that I’ll be back in august, after the wedding and honeymoon.

Vacation-time

I’s time for another challenge for Sweet Stampin’ and this weeks theme is Ribbon and Bows.

Our lovely sponsors for this month is still Joanna Sheen with a £10 voucher and our weekly sponsor is Crafty ribbons with TBC.

So I just had to make another card with the lovely Bunny Cruise. Once again i did the bath-ring all in one color, I don’t really like the fishes and don’t really wanna  accent it. The image is colored  with copics and the clouds are made with some tumbled glass. The image is framed with my new and wonderful labels 2.

The papers are from My Minds Eye’s collection  Indie Chic: Nutmeg. The image is a bit off, the yellow paper is a bit more lemony in real life. The greeting I used is from AmyR’s underwater-set.

My embellishments consists of a white doily, some paper piercing, some small brown pearls and a cream-ribbon.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

Next week is my baby brother’s 22 birthday and of coarse I have to make him a nice card.

Last week i bought the This and That: Charming from Echo Park and the paper with the fans just got my thinking of summer. I also love this collection because it works perfectly for masculine cards.

The image is a Happy Hoppers called Bunny Cruise. This is the first time I use it and I have to admit that I had a real blast coloring the bunny. On the other side i did two failed attempts on the bath-ring, but that was more my copics fault then the image. I had a hard time finding a color-combination that would match this papers. The image is a bit more yellow, especially on the green, due to the fact that the photo was taking during sunset. The image is as usual colored with copics and the clouds are Tumbled Glass.

The corner decoration at the top right corner is one of the corner-decorations in the Vintage set from provocraft. But the part you see is only the most inner part, the rest i cut away. The ribbon is tied with a nellieknot, and I think that really gives something extra on the inside of the card, i never decorate that side anyway. The stitching is made with some embroidery-thread, and i spaced the holes with the Tim Holtz ruler.

The inside is just continuing at the same theme, and the stitching.
