Singing in the spring

2013-04-07

So here comes my card for this biweekly challenge over at the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge which is themed Spring. I chose this lovely image because it make my think of all the spring-feeling that is starting to bubbling up inside me.

The coloring is of coarse made with copics. The flowers was from the beginning colored to match another paper but i think it looks pretty good anyway. But i Just love how the birdies turned out, it just love the warmth and the depth that happened.

All the papers are from Bo Bunny’s collection Kitchen Spice. The brownish paper had the same pattern as the pink/peach one so I stamped two different background-stamps in desert stamp to get some more definition. The doilie looked better when it wasn’t glued down – it showed more.

I colored some white yarn with E59 to match the cardstock and used as a twine to hold my sentiment. The sentiment is from The Craft’s Meow’s collection Get well soon and the tag from Tim Holtz’s Tiny tabs and tags which I distress with some desert Ink. The dots that is added is just made with a brown pen.

Dreamy dragon in the sky

2013-03-16 So I sat down last weekend to work a bit more with my dragon and believe it or not I have finished a card. I have to say that work-stress and good friends are a good craftingforce.

After a hard week i sat down to get my head off work and I looked at the dragon and thought – who would I like to make a dragon to and the answer was obvious: Eva. So with her in mind I made this card to let her know that I’m thinking of her and that she is very special to me. I keep with the blue and red theme and I think these flower matches beautifully with the ones on the stamp so I used only them as an embellishment.

The inside is following the same theme but much more simple as usual. I did put some flowers there even if the card gets bulkier but I really wanted them there and the envelope is big enough to handle it.

On a completely different subject- I just ordered a new camera so soon my pictures will be much better (as seen here but I’m still learning), and hopefully I’ll start taking more photos and making some albums:) I have been dying to try Project life. I can’t wait!

Springflowers in pink

2013-03-09

This week I have been working on a card for the guest spot for House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge. The challnge for this week is ”ribbon and pearls”.

I choose this beautiful stamp from Sing your heart out because I wanted to something with a feeling of spring. It have been sunshine out this week and it have really been wonderful. I tried to keep the green very fresh and lite and I just love how the hummingbird turned out.The sentiments is from Hero Arts.

SS-248-2013All the papers are from Bo Bunny’s collection Sophie and the flowers are colored to match the pink paper. I do think the card turned out a bit to girly to my taste but I think I’ll send it to my grandma and she will just love it. I followed this week’s sketch from Sketch Saturday, I’m to late for the challenge but i Like the sketch. I have always wanted to incorporate a cornertreatment like this but always forgets so this was just an perfect opportunity for that. The button is from Basic gray and the ribbon is a cream-colored satin ribbon.

A Vintage Smile

Welcome to another week on the Sweet Stampin’ Challenges. This weeks challenge is Vintage. For this week we have two lovely sponsors: Joanna Sheen wit a  £10 voucher and Crafy Ribbons.

Oh I found this challenge really hard. I have no idea to get the softness that i associate with vintage cards. But after some brainstorming i came of with wrinkly and brown for my card.

I started out with stamping this music background from Hero Arts in Rich Cocoa. I then wrinkled the paper and distressed it with antique linen and vintage photo. I then tore the edges and the scraped them a bit. I wanted to keep the card clean due to the rich colors but it looked so empty i just needed to fill the space in someway so i dug out this flourish-die. The flourish stem is glued down but the leafs i put up a bit with gluedots.

Stamp: CC Design – Amy R Sentiments – Big Words. Hero Arts – Music Background.

Ink: Memento – Rich Cocoa. Distress Ink – Vintage Photo, Antique linen.

Dies: Spellbinders -Shapeabilities – Grommet tags. Cheery Lynn – Fanciful Flourish.

Maskuline Party-mouse

So yesterday i sat down to make a card for my friend’s birthday tomorrow. I wanted to use for of my Graphic45 papers when i think they work really good for a man so i choose some papers from the Le Cirque-collection.

The mouse is stamped on a tag created by using Tim Holtz’s Tiny Tabs and tags. I did color him with my copics and the paper-pieced the hat with the paper i used for the background. After tat i masked the mouse of and distressed the tag with Antique Linen, after that i stamped it with Hero Arts’ background stamp Envelope Pattern to get some texture. Unfortunate i made a bit of a stamping-mistake on the upper right corner so I did cover it with a Butterfly.

The layout is made by using this weeks Mojo Monday. The sentiment is from AmyR Sentiments and I made the banner by just cutting the edge and distressing it with more Antique Linen. First I stamped the Birthday with Memento’s Rich Cocoa, but it looked a bit to pale so i traced over it with a black pen.

Stamp: House Mouse – Birthday – Ice Cream. Hero Arts – Envelope Pattern

Copic: E13, E11, E51, E04, Y15, W5, W7, W9, 0, W3, W1

Paper: Graphic45 – Le Cirque

Other: Spellbinders – nestabilities – Labels 8. Tim Holtz – Alterations – Tiny Tabs & Tags. Butterfly-punches.

Ink: Memento – Tuxedo Ink and Rich Cocoa. Distress Ink – Antique Linen.

Juggling Raspberries Part 3 – Sky

Stamp: House mouse’s Juggling raspberries (from the Summer: Waterlily-set)

Distress Inks: Broken China, Tumbled Glass

Other: Eclipse Masking Tape

A House Mouse graduation-card

Todays card is a graduation-card, which explains all the yellow and blue (the Swedish flag). It’s made to be sold and don’t have a preconsidered receiver and lacks dates and years because of it.

All the papers are from Maja Design’s summer collection and i did distress the pleaded paper a tiny bit with faded jeans. All the papers have been doodled around and the edges have been painted black. I have done the layout after this weeks Saturday Sketch Challenge (see the picture at the bottom-down to the right).

The image is from my House Mouse Birthday: Balloon set and using the stamp Pop-ular fun. I Have colored my lovely mice with promarker trying to keep a soft color scheme. I did not have a soft blue so i used my midnight blue witch a picked up color from with my blender-pen. As adding a bit texture and depth into the image i stamped Hero Arts background-stamp Happy definitions in Antique Linen.

The flowers are made by Fiskar’s Retro Flower Medium and flower power punches, using the same paper as the rest of the card and a soft yellow pearl as centerpiece. I kept going with the same pearls as embellishments on the outside. The ribbon is regular satin ribbon in two different colors and sizes.

I made the inside using the same background paper and i did the Happy definitions on the Greeting space, light enough tpo give depth and still do’t disturb the message that will be put into it.

Challenges:

Pink Flower Lady

Todays card is made with an focal that I experimented with yesterday using emboss-resist-technique.

The focal image is first stamped with Gina K’s timeless textures, with Versa Colors 152 Ash Rose, the script stamp and then i clear-embossed Hero Arts Flower Lady. After that the entire imaged got heavily distressed with milled lavender. I did the same thing with the label, that is the Quickutz die labels, and i stamped two small hearts on it with the Ash Rose again. The cards background is a simple white cardstock that have been teated with provocrafts embossingfolder Victoria and then lightly distressed with some more milled lavender. The bottom edge, bot white and pink paper, have been punched with Fiskar’s border punch scalloped circles. The flowers are simple white Reprint papers that has been embellished with some small pearls. The ribbon that is used is a pink multi-colored one that i think match both the dark and the light pink. The dark pink cardstock is a bazil bling one which makes it a bit hard to get a accurate picture of the color but it works really good together with the ash rose and milled lavender. The card is a 15 x 10cm, very close to an A6.

The cards layout is from this weeks Mojo Monday (#192). I didn’t change much but I’m happy. I’m also trying to enter this month Hero Arts challenge for the first time.

Green Penny Black

This is the result from yesterdays craft-session with my sister and her friends. The layout is from this weeks Mojo Monday (#187). The image is one from Penny Black’s clearstamp set Piece of my heart, and as usually it’s colored with promarkers. The word ”smile” on the images tag is a part of a sentence from House Mouse’s set Birthday: Ice cream. And the text in the left bottom corner is from Penny Black Critter Party and the ”just for you” on the tags, that is the Quickutz die tags, is from Hero Arts Warm wishes. The border is made with Martha Stewart’s borderpunch Modern Garland. The papers are from Maja designs collection ”Ska vi ta en fika”. The white paper have been dry embossed with provocrafts swiss dots embossingfolder. The other decorations are just light green pearls and dark green brads. Im also entering this card into the Simon says challenge – emboss it again sense in really happy with the card and the I love Promarker (#62) Anything goes.
