Buttons/ Knappar

I have been at my mother and family today, having dinner and doing some sewing for my father. When I’m about to leave my dear mother remembers that she have some ribbons and such in the basement from Grandma and Grandpa’s old store. She said that it probably wouldn’t be any buttons but she hoped i would like it anyway. We go down to look at the bag and IT*S FILLED WITH BUTTONS! Just look, it’s amazing! I’m just not that found of the gray ones and the gray-tones but i think i can find a use for them too. Just can’t wait for the next project… to bad its vacation soon.

Copics

I just ordered a 72 piece pack with Copics (the B-set) and i just can’t wait until they is home on my desk! My dear father will bring them home with him on his next businesstrip so i will have them on the 8th or 9th of July and i just can’t wait. It’s just good that i do have a weeks vacation so i can’t make anything and so i won’t think of them until i come home.

Cards of the day 3 – Springflowers

So i found myself with more time so i did yet another card, this time not meant for a kid, but everything works.

I wanted to try the technique were you stamp the image twice, cut out one and put it over the first for a more dimensional look. The main image here is made by three different stamps (see the details on the first picture to the right). The scripted background is from Gina K.’s Timeless textures, the sentiment is from Vilda Stamps and the butterfly that is Inkido’s small summer butterfly. The Script has been stamped with Antique Linen distress ink and the butterflies with memento black. The butterfly on the paper was first stamped on another paper so i got a lighter colors as ”shadow”, but the cutout one is stamped as normal. The butterflies have then been colored with Promarkers Gold and Pastel yellow, then blended out to the edges. The butterflies have been put to the paper with half a glue dot, but i think i have to come up with a new way when it was very hard on such a small contact-surface, on the body of the butterflies and the wings have been bent up a bit.

The paper is from Echo Park’s 6×6″ paperpack A Walk in the Park and the lace is a self-adhesive paperlace from Panduro. The Flowers are made by EK Success punches flower power and retro flower medium. In the center of every flower there is a pearl, both white and soft yellow. (realized half way through that I’m out of white ones).

I tried to keep the inside on the same theme by using the same papers and stamps, the greeting is the only one that ain’t there. On the inside I only stamped the butterflies once, on the paper. I stamped the scripted background here also when i think that i just gove a softer look and won’t disturb the writing the gifter will put in.

I got inspired but this weeks Mix it up Monday challenge from Gina K: Wear your white.

Cards of the day 2 – Disney’s Mickey and friends

This card is also for a kid as seen, or someone that really likes Disney.I have to apologize for the photos but it was very hard to take a good photo when this card has a lot of dimension and are a but bulky, especially around the paperclips.

All the papers, including the ones i used as center images, are from a paper pack called Making Disney Scrapbook Pages that i got from Paperwishes, and this paperpack should be an official disneyproduct. When i first got the paperpack i was very disappointed. At the webisode i saw about it the pack looked filled with the Junglebook, little mermaid and so on but it contains more then half of Winnie the Pooh, which i don’t like, and almost only half-pages of the ones i wanted. But in this card i think i succeeded to create a nice card with it.

I have framed all papers with black or white or both to get the cartoon-feeling. The with border is made by Fiskars Scalloped borderpunch. The bow is made with my handmade bow-easy and the paperclips i think came from a set of embellishments from Paperwishes, but i can’t promise.

I tried to keep the theme going on the inside, this time i cut the images out from the paper i used as background on the front of the card. Same ribbon and kind of paperclips are used here.

Challenges:

  • Lili of the Valley – #100 Anything Goes
  • Gina K. designs– Free for all – Friday – Recipe Time
    • 2 Embellishments
    • 3 Images
    • 4 Colors (of paper and/or dp)
    • 5+ layers (minimum of 5 layers but can be more)

Cards of the day 1 – Cowboy/girl

Today i have tried creating more cards for the bow that i will have in my dear mothers workplace in an attempt to sell my cards. When packing the box I have realized that i have few cards that is for younger kids so that have been the goal for today.

This cards is meant for a a kid that likes cowboys, perhaps a bit older sense it’s kind of clean-looking without much embellishments. The papers is from DCWV’s All About Boys stack (6″x4″) and the horse you can see to the left is a part of that specific paper and have a glossy shine to it which is badly reflected in this picture. The Sentiment is Reprint’s text set and have been stamped with Versa Colors 171 Pine cone, (The senitiment says ”Happy Birthday in swedish”). All edges have been lightly distressed with Vintage Photo. The embellishments that is put on the cards is simple some black brads.

I tried to keep the same layout on the inside but in a smaller scale, with the papers reversed. I didn’t need to take a new sheet by reversing the papers with i thought was nice.

Challenges: Lili of the Valley – #100 Anything Goes

Masuline Train

Here comes another card for the men in our life, a dad.

The papers that is used is from Graphic45’s 8×8″ paperpack from the collection Le Cirque. Everything have been distressed with Vintage Photo. The Layout is this weeks Inspirational Card Sketches.

The image is Tina Design the train from the store Arkivet, here in town. The buttons at the bottom is from Provocraft’s Babyface Alphabet dies. The divider between the two patterned papers is a selfadhesive paper-lace from Panduro, also treated with Vintage Photo. I kept goinhg with the stitching from the buttons (embroidery-thread treated with Vintage Photo) on the other side if the card and on the inside.

Maskunline birthday card – MC

This card is for my Cousin that turn 18 this Wednsday.

The papers are cardstock and the black one is a Cor’dinations that i have dry-embossed with Provocraft’s embossingfolder Clockworks and then i sanded it to make the white core appear better. All edges have been thorn and distressed with Vintage Photo. The the light block with the sentiment has been wrinkled and distressed with Vintage Photo.

The image is from Tina design found at the store Arkivet. I bought this one and a steam-engine train this Wednesday on Arkivet’s 7th birthday and i love them, it’s gonna be much easier to make masculine cards. The senitiments are from Penny Black set Critter Party.

The ribbons is put through a couple of eyelets (white ones) that i have sanded a bit and lightly colored with black stazon. The ribbons have been colored with distress-inks. The brown one is only Vintage Photo and the other one is a mix of Black Soot and Weathered Wood. I first mixed some water and ink and make some spots on the cotton ribbon and then i used my blending tool to color in the rest, then they were the dried with my heatgun.

The layout is by this weeks Sketch Saturday (the first picture to the right) and the Technique is from The Shabby Tearoom and is about dry embossing (the second picture to the right).

Konfirmationskort

All day yesterday i was a very busy bee creating 8 cards that my aunt have ordered.  I got completely free hand making 8 confirmation invitations. This will be my first payed order so I’m a bit happy for that! I did wedding-inventions for my friend that got married last summer but them i made for free after she bought all the materials i needed.

I went with a clean and simple design sense i had to do a few of them. They are 15x11cm and the patterned paper is Inkido’s Turquoise Newspaper. I wanted a hint of blue when my two cousins that will be confirmed is two boys.

When planing the card i realized i had no stamps that would be fit for the occasion so i went downtown and came home with Reprint’s text set and You Do’s Wedding set. The stamps I ended up using is from You Do’s wedding set witch contained but the greeting (invitation in Swedish) and the small church.

The inside is simple decorated with a big black block that the information will be glued to when my aunt gets the cards and prepare then for the send.

I’m very happy with the simple but still nice look, only bad thing is that I’m now out of both white and black paper but another trip downtown might help that problem.

A House Mouse graduation-card

Todays card is a graduation-card, which explains all the yellow and blue (the Swedish flag). It’s made to be sold and don’t have a preconsidered receiver and lacks dates and years because of it.

All the papers are from Maja Design’s summer collection and i did distress the pleaded paper a tiny bit with faded jeans. All the papers have been doodled around and the edges have been painted black. I have done the layout after this weeks Saturday Sketch Challenge (see the picture at the bottom-down to the right).

The image is from my House Mouse Birthday: Balloon set and using the stamp Pop-ular fun. I Have colored my lovely mice with promarker trying to keep a soft color scheme. I did not have a soft blue so i used my midnight blue witch a picked up color from with my blender-pen. As adding a bit texture and depth into the image i stamped Hero Arts background-stamp Happy definitions in Antique Linen.

The flowers are made by Fiskar’s Retro Flower Medium and flower power punches, using the same paper as the rest of the card and a soft yellow pearl as centerpiece. I kept going with the same pearls as embellishments on the outside. The ribbon is regular satin ribbon in two different colors and sizes.

I made the inside using the same background paper and i did the Happy definitions on the Greeting space, light enough tpo give depth and still do’t disturb the message that will be put into it.

Challenges:

Green and yellow Sleeping in the Crocus

This card is for mu aunt that will lend me her house during my mini vacation this week. As a thanks you she and her family will get this card and a small surprise.

The card is inspired by this weeks House Mouse Monday Challenge no 96 – Love for the game and the theme is either football or green and yellow so i choose to make a card in the theme of Green and Yellow.  The paper is Basic Grey’s Origins and the image is House Mouse’s Sleeping in the Crocus. The picture is colored with promarkers. I have hand-stitched the image to the frame with a light brown embroiderythread.

The inside is made by using the same paper and the same idea as the front. The greeting on the frame is from Gina K’s fanciful tags.
