Love under the Moon

This Weeks Challenge over at the Sweet Stampin’ is Moon & Stars and ours sponsor for this week is Bugaboo witch the prize of 7 digis and our monthly sponsor Joanna Sheen with a £10 voucher.

So after looking through my stamps for something to match Moon and Stars i found this stamp from The Crafter’s Meow set Happy Owlentine’s day. Sense I wanted a night-scene i also looked through my papers and found these from My Mind’s eye, the Stella and Rose collection. The vertical paper is a dark blue but it do get a more gray tone combined with the gray paper.

I based my coloring after this gray paper and all colors are chosen from a gray perspective. The moons texture is made withe the blender pen and I made the clouds with my cloud stencil and the London Fog memento Ink. I did have some Paris Dusk on the stencil that transfered onto the paper. It gave a bit of a depth but the Paris Dusk mostly shows on the top part.

The sentiment is from the same stamp-set and it’s stamped with Archival’s Brilliance Graphite Black. The little banner have been shaped with a pen so the ”need” part is raised and the edge of the banner is raised.

I used this weeks Sketch Saturdays Sketch for the layout. I also tried a new cardsize for this card. I think that my normal size (10x15cm) is a bit to narrow and I don’t really like the proportions so I asked Kim Teasdale what size she uses (I just love all her cards!) and I learned that she uses approximately 11x14cm (she of course have her measurements in inches). I thought that felt a bit short so my card is actually 15×11 and I think it’s better then before but I have to try a 11×14 soon. But thanks Kim!

The Musical Bear

So this weeks challenge for Sweet Stampin’ is  ”anything but square” so I thought I’d try my first round easel.

Our sponsor for this moths is Joanna Sheen that will give a £10 gift voucher.

And our weekly sponsor is Di’s digis that will give a $10 voucher

As soon as I saw this lovely image from Di’s Digis i immediately thought of the Ljusteräng family, and especially Andreas. Andreas is a musician and will among other things play on my wedding. His son and my godson Theo will probably grow up to be one too and I though that this bear would be so cute for Theo.

I’m really happy with how the coloring of the fur turned out. I went for a longhaired bear and it really turned out good. I’m not very happy with the drums but i honestly have no idea how to make it work. The white of the hat is not colored because i forgot it until i took the photo. I looks really good but I will probably shade it a bit with E40, E41 if I find the time this weekend. The edges of the circle (and the nameplate) is distressed with Antique Linen.

The paper on the bottom part is from Echo Park’s collection This &That: Charming and I did use that paper as inspiration when I colored. The nameplate is made with one of Spellbinder’s Grommet Tags. The name Theo is stamped with some clearstamp letters i had from an Exchangeable Clearstamper-sets featuring Baby-things and the brads are from Paperwishes. The nameplate is not fastened with any foam-dots or other adhesive or anything dimensional, it’s keeping up due to the fact that the brads is closer together then they ”should”.

Girly But no Pink Allowed

So here comes my first contribution as the DT member for Sweet Stampin’. The theme for this weeks challenge is Girly but no pink allowed.

Our sponsors for this week are Pollycraft which will give a lucky winner 5 digis.

We also have our Monthly sponsor Joanna Sheen that will give a £10 gift voucher.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————–

So onto my card; I usually don’t use Pink but just because of the challenge everywhere I look in my stash i see pink, and i have to admit that I have been very nervous to make this card and post so the process of this card have been a very hard one.So I got this lovely digi from Pollycraft called Cupcake Party and are featuring Celeste Amberglow. I don’t have a printer at home because it broke down like two (or more?) years ago so I normally print at a friends or my moms house. I think the nervousness got the better of me because the first print I didn’t bring copic-paper, the second one I destroyed when i was fussy-cutting and the third one I mangled in my cuttlebug… so after those sad attempt i deiced to make a serious run so I printed the dear Celeste like 10 times so I wouldn’t have to run over to our friend again and at the same time giving me some room for more mistakes (which of course i didn’t do now when i had the materials for it).

First when i saw this image I really wanted to make a bright and happy card so I found my Bo Bunny Peacock Lane collection and started to color. I have to admit that The card was far to dark and everything just looked a bit off so I had to start over. Luckily for me a new flash of inspiration came this Tuesday when my big order from the USA came. I had ordered a lot of new copics and several nice dies so I decided to us as much new things as possible. The new pens I got were from the 90-seriers so I went for the V90’s for the color-scheme on Celeste. I know that it’s dangerously close to pink but it’s purple so I think I can get away with it. To really bring out this dusty purple i deiced to go for all black and white on the card so all the other coloring (except the skin) is made with the cool grays.

I framed Celeste on my new Spellbinders Large Rectangles and Large Scalloped Rectangles and distressed the edged a bit with Weathered Wood. I then put my sentiment (which is a a tired minds wordplay on the cool grays I used and a nice sentiment for a young girls birthday) on the shapabilities double ended tags. Sense it’s a 10x15cm card I didn’t decorate it much but i did use soem brads and I ribbon just to give it something more. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the snow stampset and I stamped it with Archival Brilliance Graphite Black.
