Blue Magnolia Elephant

I have been trying to practice my copic-skills. I’m not a patient woman so i think it have gone so so but i like the results on this elephant. The shadowing is there but discrete but i like it, i think i succeeded on give it a bit of depth. I was a bit messy with the coloring so i needed to reinforce the white in the eyes and feet with a sakura pen.

The cute little elephants is from Magnolia and the Papers of the card is from MME collection Stella and Rose: Hattie. I did accidentally cut of the tail of the elephant while cutting it out and i left it off so that might vary from the original stamp. The yellow-ish cardstock that is used for the framing is gold-colored and has a nice shimmer to it. I used Tim Holts’s embossing folder Rays on on of the blocks and to make it appear a bit better i gently distressed it with Weathered Wood. The border on the top part is one of the two borders in Nellie Snellen’s Lacy Borders set.

The embellishments are simple the yellow and blue brads and the bow of almost transparent blue ribbon on the black thread. The ribbon is not tied hard so it can slide all the way across the card.

Toby’s teaparty on Echo Park

So i have finally finish this card off! The pieces have been laying on my desk for almost two week waiting for the border that will create the contrast.  I did the layout out of one of Amy Rysavy’s cards that i really liked, you can see it here. I love how she combined the colors and the image. I think that I succeeded with getting the colors from the paper into the image but hers i better balanced. The black border got a bit harsh but i really couldn’t find a better color in my stash.

The papers is from Echo Park’s collection A walk in the Park and the die that is used for the borders are Dainty Dots from MFT. The framing around the image is made by nestabilities circles and scalloped circles.

The Image is a free sample from the paper The Craft Stamper. The image is a Cuddly Buddy and are a part of their image Toby’s TeaParty. I have colored him with copic and tried to keep it as bright as i could im am very pleased with the result:)

A cute Grapic45

I just wanted to do a very simple card suitable for almost all occasions so i came up with this.

The Papers is from Once upon a Springtime collection from Grapic45. The borders is made by using a Nelli Snellen die, lacy borders. All edges have been inked with distress ink: Vintage Photo.

I didn’t use any Patterned paper on the inside but instead a stamped some butterflies, to keep on the butterflies from the patterned paper on the front. The butterflies is from a set from Royal Brush Clear Choice and is called Best Friends Stamp. The inside The inside have also been distressed with Vintage Photo.

Echo Park and Baby Bottles

When I was ready to leave my desk for the day i found a Sketch that i really like and I immediately thought about my Echo Park papers.

As said this is Echo Park’s paper and they are all from the A Walk in the Park-collection. The main image is made using the bottle from Kraftin Kimmie’s Caroline-set. And the greeting (I love the font and text) is also from Kraftin Kimmie but from the Rachel-set. I colored all the bottletops with copics and the bottle it self it paper piced with almost all papers from the set. The black border i used is made using Nellie Snellen’s Lace Edge Border by cutting it twice.

(the orange color looks a bit radiant on the photo but its a bit duller in reality)

Copic: N5, N3, 0, Y08

Paper: Echo Park’s A Walk in the Park

Fruti Fun in gray and antique yellow

I have made another card for House Mouse and Friends 100ed challenge and this time i tried some new papers out. I used this week Sketch Saturday sketch for the layout.

The Image is Fruity Fun from House Mouse and i colored it with only gray (N-series) and skin-tones (which i coated with Y21 to get a more yellow tone). The background have been distressed with Antique Linen so it won’t be any harsh white. I paper pierced around the edge for a bit more dimension.

The Paper that is used is from Making Memories Paper Reverie collection. I love them, they are so delicate and soft and yet have a depth to them, As embellishments i used Martha Stewart’s borderpunch Modern Garland to mate the lacy borders. I used some beige buttons and a black satin ribbon. The flowers are made with Fiskar’s punch Retro flower (medium) and flower power. I put them together and put a pearl in the middle.

Copic: N9, N7, N5, N3, N1, E43, E41, Y21, 0

Punches: Martha Stwearts Modern Garland, Fiskars Retro Flower Medium and Flower Power.

House Mouse with lots of buttons

Among all the buttons i got in the bag from grandma and grandpa’s old store there were some with a pearlshine and some with stars is them that i just loved so i decided to make a card with them, and luckily for me this weeks House Mouse challenge is one featuring buttons.

The stamp is House Mouse’s Brithday Cupcake that i have in my Birthday: Ice Cream-set. I have colored i with Copic and i just fell in love with this very light green combination. I used Glossy Accent on the frosting to make it more shiny (se the picture to the right). The sentiment is from Gina K’s Fanciful tags i just stamped in black.

The paper is from an unknown brand as decoration i used a doilie, lots of buttons and pearls  and a ribbon. I used this week Mojo Monday again for my layout.

Copic: E00, E11, E13, YG11, G12, YG41, B00, N7, N5, N3, N1, E41, E40, E04, E13, E35, E39 and 0.

Superman-card

This card is for my friend that LOVES superman and batman, and he happens to have his birthday this weekend.

The papers that i used  is from DCWV’s All about Boys stack, that i actually bought just because these two sheets. Both papers had parts of glossy images, the superman is glossy on the yellow paper and the red words are glossy on the word-paper (and thats why it’s hard to get a good photo of it). I did follow this weeks Sketch Saturday layout and keept very true to it.

The tag on top is created with regular cardstock, Double Do’s alphabet die and Quickutz tag toppers die. The letters are yellow foam, but it was a bit to light to i colored the surface with Y08 to make it darker. I then punched out three holes with my Fiskars handpunch. The word that is put at the tag is the Swedish word for congratulations..

The embellishments on this cards is simple different kinds of ribbon and some minibrads.

Paper: DCWV All about Boys-stack (6×4″)

Copic: Y08

Dies: DoubleDo alphabet, Quickutz tag toppers

Other: Fiskar’s hand-punch

Max and Whiskers: Gray Cat

When i was playing and making yesterdays Max and Whiskers- card i got inspired so today i finished of a second one, this one ia bit darker color.

The image is from Recollections Meow Meow set and have been colored with some Natural Gray Copics. The Background in the ovals is distress inks, and i masked of an area for the ground using a torn post-it.

All the papers is from Basic Gray’s Max and Whiskers collection and its the 12×12 single papers that have been used. The buttons used as embellishments is half a snap-button (no idea of its real English name) and i found them in my sewing-box some time ago. I did attach the ribbon on the Nestabilities Oval with a regular stapler.

I tried to keep the inside on the same theme but i made the lower part a bit lower. The paw-stamps is from the same Recollection’s set.

Copic: N9, N7, N5, N3, N1, E04

Distress Inks: Broken China, Antique Linen

Nestabilities: Oval (small and large)

Stamp: Recollections

Paper: Max and Whiskers

Basic Gray Challenges – Doilies and Ribbons

Bright and light: Max and Whiskers

This card is ordered by a work-friend to my mom and the directiv was: a birthday card for a woman that loves cats, 15X10cm. So this is what i ended up with, i hope she gets happy and will approve of it.

I tried to keep the layout pretty simple sense the papers have a lot going on on them. The papers is from Basic Greys collection Max and Whiskers and i used my 6×6″ paperpad.I used a cream cardstock for the base and a golden shimmering one for the framing. Without seeing the shimmer i think it had the exact color as some of the yellow/light orange tones on the background-papers so i was thrilled finding it in my stash. I also like the edge it give the card when the light hit the shimmer. I got even more thrilled when i realized that i usually are thinking of putting it away sense it never seem to fit any of my projects. I have to use it more times with these papers!

The image is from my new stamp-set Meow Meow from recollections and i did the kitten very bright to keep a light look on the card. The cat is colored with Copics (I so love it, i didn’t spend much time when i needed it to be done quickly but it’s still way better then lots of time with promarkers!). On all the areas with colors, like the necklace and the pendant i colored a thin layer of N3 to dull out the color a bit to really match the backgroundpapers. The cat and the scalloped and regular circle, the circles are  nestabilities, have both been put up bit foam tape, and the backing in the circle have been slightly distressed with Broken China.

I tried to mirror the inside with the front with the exception that the inside scalloped Circle is bigger (more room for writing) and that the proportions on the patterned papers therefore got a bit smaller.

Papers: Max and Whiskers (Basic Gray)

Stamps: Recollections

Pens: E43, E41, E41, E04, E00, BG15, BG13, Y17, N3 and 0

Other: Broken China, Scalloped Circle and Classic Circle (Spellbinders)
